Please Note: As we do small group Guitar Intermediate Lessons Online so the published dates are tentative and can be slightly moved depending on the enrollments.
Which Exam this course aims for:
ABRSM Music Grade Exam
Agenda for 8 lessons:
LESSON 1:
– Revise over open chords learnt so far (C,G,D,Dm,Em,A,Am) within songs learnt
– Revise over right hand playing technique with piece we have been learning
– Introduce students to bass notes on the stave and using our thumb to play them
– Begin new classical piece which incorporates bass notes
LESSON 2:
– Revise last week’s materials and continue with classical piece
– Continue with classical piece incorporating bass notes
– Introduce C major scale and begin learning it ascending on guitar
– Rhythm training with written out exercises and strumming them back
– Quiz on all notes learnt so far on stave by finding them on the guitar
LESSON 3:
– Revise last week’s materials and continue with classical piece
– See how students got on with C major scale and see if they can now do it descending too
– Learn theory about major scales, how it is constructed with whole and half steps, how chords can be formed from them such as chord I and V (C and G in C major)
– Aural training by playing a simple phrase and having students sing it back
LESSON 4:
– Revise last weeks material and aim to finish classical piece with students playing it confidently
– Introduce new classical piece which uses thumb and fingers at the same time
– Learning C natural minor scale and how to construct it from C major (flatten 3rd, 6th and 7th)
– Construct I and V chords from C natural minor
– Rhythm training exercises
LESSON 5:
– Revise last weeks material and continue with classical piece combining thumb and fingers together
– Aural training by playing a simple phrase and having students sing it back and playing a piece and having students decide whether it is in 3 or 4 time
– Learning C melodic minor and how to construct it from C major (flatten 3rd and 7th
– Constructing 1 and V chords from C melodic minor
– Now revise playing C major, C natural minor and C melodic minor
LESSON 6:
– Revise last weeks material and continue with classical piece combining thumb and fingers together
– Rhythm training exercises
– Learning C harmonic minor scale and how to construct from C major (flatten 3rd and 6th)
– Constructing I and V chords from C harmonic minor
– Constructing the IV chord from C major, natural minor, melodic minor and harmonic minor and seeing the differences
– Go over first classical piece we learnt

Things you should know before taking the HUNARly classes:
- Every Lesson at HUNARly is great learning, please set a reminder for the dates and timings of the Online Programme so that the child does not miss on the subject. We start our lessons on time, so make sure to join the link a few minutes before the class starts.

- After enrolling to the course, you will get access to ‘Learning Portal’ Tab. You can see the class notes listed, but we recommend the children to practice only what is completed in the class, and not to rush for lessons ahead. The teacher can sometimes go slow or go ahead in the Learning Portal depending on the session’s progress.
- As these are small group lessons, so the course start date or classes during the holidays are tentative and can be slightly moved if more than 70% of participants have requested a change or are not available.
- During the course, if the teacher is not available, then we have the right to arrange a cover teacher or extend the course dates. We handpick the best teachers and do the due diligence for you so that the child’s learning is not discontinued.
- We are only responsible for the teaching of the courses and not the exam registrations. We can guide you upon request but we encourage you to be on top with the dates and submissions so that you do not miss out on important deadlines.
Cancellation policy
Any cancellation requests after payment will be refunded as HUNARly credits only, which means you can use the amount for your next course booking. We recommend you go through the course agenda, teacher profile, course fee, and after that proceed to enroll in the course.
