LESSON 1
– Review Beginners course materials: natural notes on 1st position; ‘Rest Stroke’
– C Major scale (1 octave), A minor scale (2 octaves)
– Reading exercises – develop more comfort reading and playing natural notes on 1st position, whilst reviewing left and right hand technique

LESSON 2
– Warmup: C Major scale (1 octave), A minor scale (2 octaves)
– The #’s – how to sharpen notes (+reading exercises)
– Start learning “If You’re Happy and You Know It”

LESSON 3
– Warmup: C Major scale (1 octave), A minor scale (2 octaves), G Major scale (2 octaves)
– The b’s – how to flatten notes (+reading exercises)
– Continue working on “If You’re Happy and You Know It”

LESSON 4
– Warmup: A minor scale (2 octaves), G Major scale (2 octaves), F Major scale (2 octaves)
– Continue working on “If You’re Happy and You Know It”
– The Scale Challenge – fun game to review all the notes learned (including # and b’s)

LESSON 5
– Warmup: A minor scale (2 octaves), G Major scale (2 octaves), F Major scale (2 octaves)
– Learn about the ‘Free Stroke’ and how to use it in combination with ‘Rest Stroke’
– Dyads on neighbouring strings (using Free Stroke): study exercise songs “Merry Play” and “Sunny Day”

LESSON 6
– Warmup: G Major scale (2 octaves), F Major scale (2 octaves), E minor scale (2 octaves)
– Review ‘Free Stroke’ technique and Dyads on neighbouring strings with the study exercicise songs “Merry Play”; “Sunny Day”, and “Little Dance”
– Riff Relay: fun game to develop ear training and creativity
– Talk about Online Recital preparation for week 12

LESSON 7
– Warmup: G Major scale (2 octaves), F Major scale (2 octaves), E minor scale (2 octaves)
– “Merry Play”; “Sunny Day” and “Little Dance” final review
– Learn new piece incorporating ‘Free Stroke’ technique and Dyads on neighbouring strings “The Magic Kite”

LESSON 8
– Warmup: F Major scale (2 octaves), E minor scale (2 octaves), G minor scale (2 octaves)
– Continue working on “The Magic Kite”
– The Scale Challenge – fun game to review all the notes learned and practise reading

LESSON 9

– Warmup: F Major scale (2 octaves), E minor scale (2 octaves), G minor scale (2 octaves)
– Continue working on “The Magic Kite”
– Thumb and Two Finger arpeggios: study exercise songs “In the Watchmaker’s Workshop” and “Little Arpeggio”

LESSON 10

– Warmup: E minor scale (2 octaves), G minor scale (2 octaves), A Major scale (2 octaves)
– Review Thumb and Two Finger arpeggios: study exercise songs “In the Watchmaker’s Workshop”, “Little Arpeggio”, and “Cowboy”
– Riff Relay: fun game to develop ear training and creativity

LESSON 11

– Warmup: E minor scale (2 octaves), G minor scale (2 octaves), A Major scale (2 octaves)
– “In the Watchmaker’s Workshop”, “Little Arpeggio”, and “Cowboy” final review
– Learn new piece incorporating Thumb and Two Finger arpeggios “Merry-Go-Round Blues”

LESSON 12

– Final review and Q&A’s
– Online recital – Play the three pieces learned “If You’re Happy and You Know It”, “The Magic Kite” and “Merry-Go-Round Blues”
– The students will also have the chance to perform one song of their choice that they will learn through self-directed study (more info on this will be provided in the weeks before)

Please Note: You can join HUNARly Courses by following the course’s progression path or you can also contact us to take an assessment for that level to directly enroll for it.

Things you should know before taking the HUNARly classes:

1. Every Lesson at HUNARly is great learning, please set a reminder for the dates and timings of the Online Programme so that the child does not miss on the subject. We start our lessons on time, so make sure to join the link a few minutes before the class starts.

3. After enrolling to the course, you will get access to ‘Learning Portal’ Tab. You can see the class notes listed, but we recommend the children to practice only what is completed in the class, and not to rush for lessons ahead. The teacher can sometimes go slow or go ahead in the Learning Portal depending on the session’s progress.
4. As these are small group lessons, so the course start date or classes during the holidays are tentative and can be slightly moved if more than 70% of participants have requested a change or are not available.
5. During the course, if the teacher is not available, then we have the right to arrange a cover teacher or extend the course dates. We handpick the best teachers and do the due diligence for you so that the child’s learning is not discontinued.
6. We are only responsible for the teaching of the courses and not the exam registrations. We can guide you upon request but we encourage you to be on top with the dates and submissions so that you do not miss out on important deadlines.

Cancellation policy

Any cancellation requests after payment will be refunded as HUNARly credits only, which means you can use the amount for your next course booking. We recommend you go through the course agenda, teacher profile, course fee, and after that proceed to enroll in the course.
